World building! It’s always fascinated me, this concept of daydream fabricated microcosms inside our minds that we sometimes try to express through writing or art. They’re cobbled together from a myriad of influences and sources, but manifest themselves to us as new unique concepts and are often self-propagating in nature.
I’m sadly not a very good writer and more often than not get frustrated at my own attempts to conceptualize anything that’s going on inside my head, but I want to take this October (and the InkTober Initiative for simplicity’s sake) to map out a little bit of the primary universe I draw a lot of inspiration from. There are times where I tell myself
… but inevitably I not only run out of motivation or energy, but bump into the ever-present “Why am I actually doing this?” issue. If I’m doing it for myself, well, the mental imagery will never be matched by physical representations, and if I’m doing it for others the entire point becomes muddy and turns into some kind of weird job you don’t get paid for.
So throughout October, I’m going to compile 10 ink-drawn samples from the world and wars of Mynir. There will be funny stuff and weird stuff and sad stuff, but it’s all stuff, and more stuff is never a bad thing.
